Are You Feeling Giving Up?
Don’t Give Up, Because Things Will Not Always Be This Way
Life has a way of testing us at any given time. There are moments when the weight of struggles, disappointments, and unanswered prayers makes us feel like giving up. I once encountered giving up as a writer. The truth is, you may be walking through a dark season right now, as many are presently facing. Things may not make sense. Your efforts may feel wasted. Your heart may be weary from fighting battles no one else sees.
But let me remind you of something powerful: things will not always be this way. Seasons change. Life evolves. Pain does not last forever. Just as the night eventually gives way to the sunrise, your difficult moments are only temporary. infact your challenges are just for a moment, ensure that at all times you must be encouraged, never to give up.
When you feel like giving up, pause and tell yourself: “This is not the end of my story.”
Every Season Has an Expiration Date
Nothing in life stays the same forever. The dry season gives way to the rains. Winter eventually makes room for spring. No matter how long the night, morning always comes.
I remember in the 90s in my beautiful community in Mushin, Lagos, Nigeria. I looked around me and asked myself a question: when will I finish my secondary school, and start working? At the moment, I was wandering on those thoughts, as if they would never come to light, or might take millions of years to come to pass. Still, I must tell you it's just like yesterday now. Every trial of man has an expiring date; no matter how long it may take, it will come to an end one day.
The same applies to your challenges. That financial struggle, that sickness, that loneliness, that failure—it may feel permanent, but it is not. Every problem has an expiration date. What you are facing today is only a chapter in your story, not the conclusion.
Don’t allow your temporary situation to make you take a permanent decision, like quitting. When you quit, you only give room to more failure, because nothing changes anyway. Quitting may lead to closing doors that may have led to your open favour.
When You Hold On, It Gives Power For Brighter Days.
Many people give up right before their breakthrough. History is full of examples of ordinary people who chose to endure just a little longer and eventually saw incredible change.
I was at an event where am to pick up a certificate, but the process was like not encouraging, so I was comtemplating of leaving and come back some other time, but another thoughts was like wait, you have stayed for hours why leaving now, thank God I listen to the second thoughts, all those who left could not access their certificate again.
Think of the seed planted in the soil. For a long time, nothing seems to happen. The ground looks the same day after day. But deep beneath the soil, life is forming. Roots are spreading, strength is building, and at the right time, the seed breaks through into the light.
Your life is no different. Just because you don’t see progress now doesn’t mean things aren’t shifting. Sometimes, the most powerful growth happens in the unseen places—within your character, your patience, your wisdom.
When You Endure The Pain, It Yields Progress
Nobody likes pain. Nobody likes waiting. Nobody likes disappointment, even taking a step back. But what if the very things you are trying to escape are shaping you for the future you’ve been praying for?
Struggles teach endurance. Delays teach patience. Rejections teach resilience. Pain builds strength and endurance, gives Joy.
The person you are becoming in the middle of your challenges is more important than the speed at which you reach your destination. The lessons you are gathering today will prepare you to handle the blessings that tomorrow will bring.
So, instead of saying, “Why me?” start asking, “What can I learn from this? Start declaring positive things to yourself”
What Will Happen On The Other Side Of Your Challenges Is Greater Than Today
You must keep meditating on good things about yourself, that your future is bigger than your current situation. Your story does not end in failure, shame, or defeat. Every day you keep believing, every day you keep moving forward, you are getting closer to your breakthrough. The power of meditation is far more than you could think when you see the result.
Think of where you were five years ago and now. Think of battles you thought you would never overcome. Yet here you are, stronger, wiser, and still standing. That’s proof that tomorrow carries hope.
It might take time. It might require patience. But tomorrow has the power to rewrite your story.
Now, To Keep Going In The Trial Time
It’s easy to say “don’t give up,” but how do you actually hold on when life feels unbearable? Here are a few steps that can help you:
-
Change Your FocusThe first trial to overcome is your focus. Instead of only focusing on what is wrong, focus on what is still right. Believe something positive can still come out of you. Gratitude shifts your perspective. Even in your hardest moments, there are blessings around you.
-
Take One Step at a TimeNow, this is another trying time you must overcome; you can't achieve many steps at a time, you must choose your target per time and run with it. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Just take the next small step. Progress doesn’t always look like a giant leap—sometimes it’s just not quitting today.
-
Surround Yourself with PositivityThe possibility mentality is key to overcoming your trying times. The voices you listen to matter: advice, encouragement, side talks matter a lot in this context; you must be mindful. Surround yourself with people who encourage you, books that inspire you, and environments that remind you of hope, including this inspiration blog you are reading now.
-
Remind Yourself of Past VictoriesDon't allow the failure of today to make you forget the victory of yesterday; if you won last time, you will win this time. You’ve overcome before. Recall the battles you thought you wouldn’t survive but did. If you made it through then, you can make it through now.
-
Believe in the Bigger PictureYour faith is important in this picture; you must believe in your God and in yourself. With this, you won't be thrown away. Even if you don’t see it now, trust that your pain has a purpose. Believe that your story is being written by a hand greater than yours.
There Are Times You Feel Quitting
There will be days when your strength feels gone, weak, no courage, and no one around. Days when tears fall silently. Days when nothing seems to change despite your prayers and efforts. On those days, remember this:
Quitting won’t make the pain disappear, but endurance will give the pain meaning. Quitting shuts doors, but perseverance keeps them open. Quitting erases hope, but holding on creates possibility.
Whenever you feel like quitting, imagine the person you are becoming through this struggle. Imagine the story you will tell when you come out victorious. Imagine the people who will be inspired by your resilience.
Always Remember This In Your Heart
If your soul is heavy right now, take this as a personal message:
Don’t give up. Things will not always be this way.
The storms you see today will pass. The tears you cry will dry. The struggles you carry will lighten. One day, you will look back at this season not with bitterness, but with gratitude, because it made you stronger, wiser, and more compassionate.
You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are not stuck. You are in a process—and processes take time.
So breathe. Keep moving. Keep believing. Your story is still unfolding, and the best chapters are yet to come.
In Conclusion
Life is not easy; it's full of challenges. We all face trials that test our courage and patience. But no matter how difficult things feel, remember: It is seasonal, and it will usually change one day. Your situation is not permanent.
Hold on to hope. Take one step at a time. Keep your eyes on tomorrow. And above all, never give up—because things will not always be this way.
Your better days are ahead, and you will smile at the end.
