When Hope is Lost... Suicide isn't the Option

When Hope is Lost, Is Suicide the Option?

Sometimes strength fails, your efforts are not even seen, dedication does not count or show, best relationships collapse, life becomes ups and downs, but losing hope should not give birth to suicide. Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, sunshine and storms, laughter and tears; time and season happen to everything in life. Every man and woman alive today has, at one point or another, faced challenges so heavy that some of the world's businessmen today, at one point, whispered, “Is there any reason to go on?” For some, the hope of tomorrow looks so dim that the idea of ending it all begins to creep in like a thief in the night. But let me say this with every drop of strength in me: suicide is not the option, never; it is not an option that should come to your heart. HOPE is on the way; just stay on and seek a solution to start all over again.

Why Does Hope Look Lost?

When the expectation of desire continually falls short of reality, it makes hope seem lost. Hope is the invisible rope that keeps us holding on when life is dragging us down. But there are seasons when hope seems buried under the weight of life’s troubles. Let's examine some of this:

  • Financial struggles: A man who has laboured for years but sees no result begins to feel worthless. Debts mount up, bills pile high, and the shame of not providing weighs him down. Sometimes it may look somewhat when you are trying to grow up to outsmart financial struggle, but it's even worse when you are already encountering financial breakthrough and went off along the way, coming back can be frustrating. This makes hope look lost after waiting for a long time. It is not a good experience at all.

  • Broken relationships: Betrayal, heartbreak, divorce, or the sudden death of a loved one can make life feel empty. You can't imagine building a relationship over the years and suddenly it disappears due to betrayal, heartbreak, divorce or death. This can be frustrating, especially when you are hoping to restore it and all efforts are abortive.

  • Failures and disappointments: When repeated efforts lead to failure, discouragement sets in. Students who fail exams, entrepreneurs who watch their business collapse, or workers who lose their jobs begin to feel like there is no tomorrow.

  • Loneliness and rejection: Being misunderstood, ignored, or abandoned by people you love creates a vacuum that steals strength. This is one of the parts people fall into; this can be devastating, especially when you apply for a job and receive no response from the hirer or feedback. This can be frustrating or rejection from the company, which you hope to provide a positive response from.

  • Health challenges: Chronic illness, disability, or a doctor’s painful report can make the strongest feel hopeless. This has brought many people to their early graves.

These situations whisper lies to the soul, bring all manner of imagination of failure, painting the picture that the end has come. But the truth is: the end has not come until God says so.

When A Man Is Tested

Life will always be good, smart, joyful and peaceful to anyone whose everything is still working for them, but when you are tested, it is another story entirely. It is easy to appear strong when life is smooth. Anyone can smile when there is food on the table, money in the account, and friends by the side. But true strength is revealed in the days of trials. Every man, no matter how great or small, will face a day of testing.

Let's look at a scriptural example.

  • Job in the Bible lost wealth, children, and health in one season, yet he held on to God.

  • Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and thrown into prison before destiny lifted him.

  • Even Christ Himself endured rejection, pain, and the cross before glory came.

  • As a blogger, I have lost so many things, been betrayed, delayed and rejected so many times.

So, do not think you are weak because you are facing temptation or trials; it is not close to that at all. Every human, rich or poor, powerful or ordinary, will be tested. And trials are in levels, according to your level, the trial you face each time. So don't give up

Preparing for Tomorrow

I once made a big mistake in life, by thinking everything would always be this way, salary comes in, tips, and other allowances, how the money came is the same way it was expended, until the test day came upon me, the story is for another day. But after many years, I could get up and push further, a big lesson for me. One dangerous mistake many make is to live only for today without thought of tomorrow. Flamboyant spending, careless choices, and the desire to show off often leave men empty when storms arrive. Life is not a race of who shines fastest, but who endures to the end. Yes! who endure to the end.

  • Invest in tomorrow. Learn a trade, build a skill, save a portion of your income, and plant seeds for the future. It is not all that comes in you should expend, the way I did and pay for it dearly. There are many investments you can engage in that will bring you a return and secure your investment. Seek further advice from investors for more information.

  • Avoid comparison. Do not kill yourself trying to live the life of another. What you see on social media is not always reality. See, this will destroy you if you are not careful. Don't be another man, be yourself at the time. Live your time, money, accommodation, dresses, etc., per time. Avoid comparing yourself with others, as this can lead to borrowing and wasteful living.

  • Endure your season. Darkness does not last forever; morning must come. Like I have said earlier, tough times don't last. Live your measure, don't be another man, be yourself.

When you are faced with the trial of life, suicide is not an option.

Suicide Is Not the Option

When hope seems lost and no help or a counsellor, no matter how bitter life becomes, don't send yourself to an early grave because of trials. Suicide may silence your pain, but it transfers the pain to your family, friends, and loved ones. It leaves scars that never heal. Ending your life cuts short the story God is still writing. Don't end your life, the situation that will soon fade away in no time, if only you can humble yourself to seek counselling, help where applicable.

Let's Examine Some Of The Ways Out

If you are reading this in tears, asking yourself, “But what do I do now?” here is the way out:

  1. Don’t be afraid to start again. The first thing you should do in the first month, or thereabout, is to give yourself enough rest. Don’t rush into thinking about how to get another job, build another family, or start another business. Allow yourself breathing space to clear the shock that has suddenly hit you. Remember, failure is not final. Many great men once started from zero, and your new beginning could be the very breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.

  2. Hide your pride. Pride will not take you anywhere. When you fail, acknowledge that you have failed and seek help. Pride only makes people sink deeper into their struggles. It is far better to humble yourself, ask for support, and start small than to die in silence. Don’t let pride push you to an early grave—your life is worth more than your ego.

  3. Look for something to do. Here, develop another strategy that will keep you busy for the main time before coming back again. If your strength is still there, find work—big or small. Teach, learn a trade, offer services. Movement creates opportunity. Don't stay idle.

  4. Surround yourself with hope. Stay away from people or environments that drag you into despair. Choose friends who lift, not those who mock. Many people stand mocking; distance yourself from such people. Rather, seek people who are ready to assist.

  5. Feed your soul. Read books, listen to uplifting messages, pray, and seek wise counsel. True strength is built when the soul is nourished. Most importantly, listen to spirit-lifting music and make it a habit to encourage yourself at all times. Speak positive words over your life: I will make it. My job will be restored. I can do it. The more you feed your mind and spirit with hope, the stronger you become to face tomorrow.

  6. Remember, this too shall pass. There is a time and a season for everything. Storms never last forever. The pain you feel today will one day become your testimony. I can say this with confidence because I have many of those testimonies myself—moments when what once hurt me later became my greatest story of strength and growth.

The Motivational Word For YOU

Are you thinking of giving up? Or have you thought of ending it all? Please pause and say this to yourself again and again: I am valuable. My life matters. My tomorrow holds treasures my today cannot see, and I will make it no matter what.

Do not allow the weight of failure, rejection, or loss to bury your destiny. The world still needs your voice, your story, your gift. Hide your tears if you must, but do not hide your hope; there is a great future in it.

Take a deep breath and whisper to yourself: “I will live to see tomorrow. I will rise again.”

Finally For You

When hope seems lost, suicide may appear as an escape, but it is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Life is hard, yes, but life is also precious. Rise, fight, endure, and believe again. You may be broken today, but tomorrow holds healing, restoration, and joy for you.

Do not give up—because your story must be held by others who will also face the same trial tomorrow.
